Your Host, Lovejoy, is an art teacher. For a fun and somatic connection, beginner-friendly creative projects are ready and waiting for you to dive into—including watercolor silhouettes, adult coloring pages, stencils, and origami. Whatever you make is yours to take home.

Creative Residencies & Workspace Flexibility
Make the Space Yours: The Art Cottage is intentionally designed to support your personal, creative, or work residency. For the living room, kitchen, and patio, you are completely welcome to move the furniture to suit your flow and bring your own creative projects to work on during your stay.
No Alterations or Wall Damage: While you are welcome to rearrange the furniture, permanent modifications to the cottage are strictly prohibited. Guests may not paint walls, install fixtures, mount equipment, or put holes in the walls (including nails, screws, or heavy-duty adhesive strips) without prior written consent from the host.
Reset the Space: We ask that you kindly return all furniture to its original location before checking out, and leave the space in the clean, beautiful condition you found it.
Need Specific Tools or Setups? If your work requires a specific layout, particular tools, or extra staging space, please let your host know! We are happy to coordinate and see if we can help accommodate your artistic process.
Going Big? Outdoor Studio Setup: For larger or messier projects that need to be tackled outside, your host can provide a 10x10 pop-up tent and extra work tables for the patio or yard. Just let us know what you need, and we will get you set up!
Clean As You Go: Please clean up your materials, brushes, or project supplies as you use them so the cottage remains a peaceful, functional sanctuary for the duration of your residency.

Nestled in a remarkably quiet neighborhood in West Sedona, you are directly across the street from Whole Foods and within an easy, beautiful walk to local shops, restaurants, and red rock trailheads.

An Important Note on the Layout & Privacy:
The Art Cottage is part of a duplex property. It is built with incredibly solid cinderblock construction and features premium triple-pane windows, making the entire space exceptionally soundproof and well-insulated.
The cottage shares exactly one common wall with the rear unit (where your host, Lovejoy, lives and works). To maximize your privacy, the building was intentionally designed so that the kitchens, laundry, and bathrooms are on either side of this shared wall, acting as a massive natural acoustic buffer.
While the property is technically shared, your experience is entirely private. You have your own completely separate entrance, your own dedicated parking space, and full, exclusive use of the private front yard and patio. You will enjoy total solitude and quiet throughout your creative retreat.

Quiet Hours: To ensure a peaceful environment for all residents and neighbors, please observe quiet hours from 9:00 PM to 8:00 AM. During these times, we ask that you keep noise from electronics, conversations, and other activities to a minimum so that it cannot be heard outside the cottage.

Utility use: We encourage mindful energy consumption to help us maintain a sustainable environment. We ask that guests turn off all lights, fans, and major appliances when not in use or when leaving the property.
Privacy:
You have full, exclusive access to the entire 1-bedroom Art Cottage, your private front yard, and the shaded front patio. The space is completely yours to enjoy in total privacy.

Parking & Entry:
You have your own dedicated, private parking space located on the left side of the house.
This space can accommodate standard vehicles, small campervans, or small RVs (please notify us prior to arrival if you are bringing an oversized vehicle).
The cottage features a private entrance with a secure, keyless smart lock. You will receive your unique door access codes prior to check-in so you can arrive smoothly at your convenience.

Shared Spaces & Boundaries:
The main gravel driveway is strictly reserved for your host, Lovejoy, who lives and works on-site in the rear unit. To respect everyone's privacy, please keep this driveway clear.
The back portion of the property is a private residence and workspace. Unless you have booked a specific art workshop or request a visit, your paths will not cross, ensuring you have total solitude for your stay.
Long-Term Stay Cleaning Policy (60 Days):
To support your stay and keep the cottage in flawless working order, stays of 60 days include a complimentary mid-stay monthly cleaning. This allows us to handle routine maintenance and light refreshing so you can focus entirely on your creative projects and relaxation. Please note: The standard checkout cleaning fee still applies to cover the deep, professional clean after your final departure.

Pets Considered:
We love animals and are happy to consider well-behaved pets on a case-by-case basis. Because the cottage features curated artist-designed elements and custom decor, please message us prior to booking with your pet's breed, age, and size for approval.

Oversized Vehicles & RVs:
Your dedicated private parking space can comfortably fit standard vehicles, small campervans, or smaller RVs. If you plan to arrive in a campervan or RV, please let us know prior to booking so we can ensure a seamless fit for your specific vehicle setup. The main gravel drive must remain clear.
Strict Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging Policy
No EV Charging On-Site: The Art Cottage is not equipped for electric vehicle charging. Under no circumstances are guests permitted to plug electric vehicles into any interior or exterior standard wall outlets on the property. Our electrical panel and standard residential outlets cannot support this load, and doing so creates a severe electrical hazard and fire risk.
Violations & Penalties: Unauthorized vehicle charging on-site will result in an immediate additional fee to cover utility abuse and system inspection, and is considered a breach of house rules that may result in the immediate termination of your stay without a refund.
Where to Charge Nearby: There are multiple fast-charging and standard EV charging stations located safely and conveniently just minutes away around town in West Sedona (including setups nearby at local shopping centers). We are happy to point you to the nearest public charging hubs upon arrival!
